U2 - If God Will Send His Angels

We're Shedding Our Leaves

This has been our year for turning over a new leaf.

Like the tower of the tarot (in one of it’s rare fortunate meanings) we’ve been experiencing upheaval - with an eye to exposing what was hidden and having a burst of insight. In our case, it’s physical..

The leaves of books have always been our stairway to the stars - but two readers and collectors living in the same place for more than twenty years has led to the threat of being buried in books. Time for a solstice house clearing.

Jim did most of what ammounts to the raking of the leaves, while Tay buried herself and played in the mounds like when we were kids. There was a lot more sneezing than we remembered as things came down from shelves where they had been since we moved in. And then those dangerous trips to the used book store, trying not to come home with as many as we turned in.

But there’s no need to worry that there will be any scarcity of books in our future - after all, the leaves of the season are the symbol of immortality - the evergreen.

At this holiday time, we wish you all the Joy and Light of the season, every season in turn. Whether you are into hibernation or celebration, in your heart, as in the heart of the wheat, enjoy the fruitfulness of the past and nurture the kernel that is the promise of the future. May your Dreams be as Bright as the Northern Lights and your Hearts as Warm as Live Arctic Fur. We wish you the Brightest of New Years– Safe Haven, Snug Harbour and Always the Welcome of a Loving Heart. As winter dances over the land, remember that you always have a warm, safe nest in our hearts.
